Micah 5:2-5a
Preparation
Before the service, add a faux sheep to the stable, manger, and star at the front of the worship space. Provide five Advent candles to light during the Advent Readers Theater. Light the candles of Hope, Love, and Joy before the service begins.

Diyos ng lahat ng nilikha, sa aming patuloy na paghahanda at pag-asam sa batang Kristo, tulungan mo kaming alalahanin na ikaw ang Diyos ng kapayapaan. Diyos ng kapayapaan,
Minsan, madali para sa amin na maramdaman ang iyong kapayapaan. Ang pag-awit, and darang na nagmumula sa apoy, ang matamis na halimuyak ng mga bulaklak, at ang isang samahan sa mga kaibigan ay kadalasang nakakatulong sa amin na madama ang iyong kapayapaan. Ngunit minsan din, ang iyong kapayapaan ay napakahirap maramdaman, tulad sa mga panahong nariyan ang takot kapag may bagyo, kapag mayroong kaaway, sa mga gabing nakakabalisa at malungkot. Statement
Today’s Disciples’ Generous Response story comes from Apostle Catherine Mambwe who serves the West, South, and East Africa Mission Field. Watch the Mtopanga Mombasa congregation joyously share in the Disciples’ Generous Response.
Sa bahaging ito ng ating Disciples Generous Response, naka-focus tayo sa pag-align ng ating mga layunin sa mga layunin ng Diyos, ng ating mga puso sa puso ng Diyos.
Sa ating DGR, ikinokonekta natin ang ating mga puso sa mga pusong mapagbigay na kabilang sa Mtopanga Mombasa congregation sa Kenya. Magsisimula tayo sa pamamagitan ng pag-aalay ng ating pasasalamat at panalangin sa Diyos sa lokal na wikang Swahili, pagkatapos ay ibigay ang ating mga kaloob sa sisidlang nasa harapan ng santuwaryo. As we share our mission tithes either by placing money in the plates or through eTithing, use this time to thank God for the many gifts received in life. Our hearts grow aligned with God’s when we gratefully receive and faithfully respond by living Christ’s mission.

Readers Theater

Readers theater is a style of theater in which the actors present dramatic readings of narrative material without costumes, props, scenery, or special lighting. Actors use vocal expression to help the audience understand the story.
Each actor will have a script from which to read. The scripts may be in identical handheld folders or on music stands in front of each actor. Hand gestures are allowed but other movement by the actors is not necessary. Identical or similar clothing is encouraged.
Because there is no movement, the focus is on the vocal properties of the actors. Similar voice quality and intonation will enhance the outcome of the theater presentation.
Reader 1 portrays a generally positive person.
Reader 2 portrays a generally negative person.
Reader 3 portrays a generally practical person.

Reader 3—OK, pinaghintay mo kami buong linggo ha...
Reader 2—Oo nga, tungkol saan ang Linggong ito?
Reader 1—Tungkol ito sa kapayapaan ni Hesus!
Reader 2—Sabi mo ito ang paborito mo?
Reader 1—Oo, na-eexcite ako taun-taon pinag-uusapan ang mga ganitong uri ng kapayapaan.
Reader 3—Ano? Hindi lang isa ang uri ng kapayapaan? Bakit hindi ko alam yan?
Reader 1—Oo meron. Hayaan mong sabihin ko ito sa iyo sa pamamagitan ng pagbabasa ng Bibliya. Ang una, ayon sa banal na kasulatan ito ay tungkol sa isa sa mga titulong ibinigay kay Jesus noong siya ay isinilang.
Reader 2—Sandali, parang alam ko ito! Siya ay tinatawag na Prisipe ng Kapayapaan!
Reader 1—Perfect, yan ay mula sa aklat ng Isaiah.
Reader 2—Ha, Meron din akong alam!!
Reader 3—Ok, Sige pagbibigyan kita. Ano itong pangalawang pagbasa?
Reader 1—Mula ito sa aklat ng Juan, kabanata 14, at talata 27: “Kapayapaan ang iniiwan ko sa inyo. Ang aking kapayapaan ang ibinibigay ko sa inyo; hindi ito katulad ng kapayapaang ibinibigay ng mundo. Huwag na kayong mabalisa; huwag na kayong matakot.”
Reader 3—“ hindi ito katulad ng kapayapaang ibinibigay ng mundo”?
Reader 1—Tama. Paano nga ba ipinapakahulugan ang kapayapaan dito sa mundo?
Reader 3—Isang kalagayan ng katahimikan, yung tahimik.
Reader 2—Yung walang digmaan.
Reader 1—Tama kayo diyan.
Reader 3—So, paano nga ba naiiba ito sa kapayapaan ni Jesus?
Reader 1—Sa banal na kasulatan, nakikipag-usap si Jesus sa kanyang mga disipulo sa panahong malapit nang matapos ang kanyang panahon sa Lupa.
Reader 2—Pero hindi ko makita kung nasaan ang kapayapaan sa kanyang pagkamatay.
Reader 3—Oo nga, ako din.
Reader 1—Ipinangako ni Jesus ang isang regalo na ito ang Espiritu ng Diyos, ang Banal na Espiritu, na ibinigay sa atin. Ito ay ibinigay niya sa atin sa bilang biyaya. Ibinigay ng Diyos bilang biyaya sa atin gayong hindi ito likas sa ating katangian. Ang pagbabahagi sa atin ng Diyos kay Kristo ay isang gawa ng hindi masusukat na pagkabukas-palad.
Reader 2—Biyaya?
Reader 3—Oo, ito ay ibinigay sa atin na kahit wala tayong anumang ginagawa. Ang biyaya ay bigay sa atin na walang anumang kapalit.
Reader 1—Ibig sabihin, laging nasa atin ang Espiritu ng Diyos. Dahil sa Espiritu ng Diyos, hindi tayo dapat matakot. Ang wala nang laman na libingin ay tanda na ang Diyos ay buhay sa ngayon.
Reader 2—So, Kasama natin ang Diyos kahit anong mangyari! Woo, ang galing.
Reader 3—Sandali, liliwanagin ko lang ha. Ang sabi mo, ang kapayapaan ni Jesus ay pagkaalam natin na ang Banal na Espiritu ay lagi nating kasama. Pwede ba tayong magtiwala na ang Banal na Espiritu ay parating nasa sa atin?
Reader 1—Oo, ito ay biyaya at kaloob ng Diyos sa atin na siyang nagbibigay sa atin ng kapayapaan ng isipan, katawan, at ng ating kaluluwa.
Reader 2—Pero, nariyan parin ang mga digmaan, at mga sakit, at lahat ng mga hindi kanais-nais sa paligid natin.
Reader 1—Oo, hindi pinabayaan ng Diyos ang sangnilikha na walang kabuluhan o sa walang katapusang kasamaan, sa halip ginawa nitong angkinin sa hinaharap sa pamamagitan ni Jesu-Kristo. Ang pagkakaroon ng relasyon kay Kristo ay hindi lamang upang bigyan tayo ng buhay na walang hanggan; ito ay buhay na walang hanggan. Reader 2—Sabi mo merong apat na linggo ng Advent, ito na ba yung huli?
Reader 1—Oo nga ito na yung huli, pero kung nakikita ninyo meron pang isang natitira sa mga kandila para sindihan. Ito na yung kandila ni Kristo. Gusto ba ninyong magkita-kita uli tayo sa Christmas o Christmas eve or desperas ng gabi?
Reader 3—Oo naman, sige gusto ko meron ako para sa huling kandila.
Reader 2—Ako din!
Reader 1—Meron pa tayong mahahalagan pag-uusapan. Tingin ko maganda kung sama-sama nating sindihan ang huling kandila.
