Statement

Ang kuwento para sa DGR natin ngayon ay ibinigay ni Apostol Janné Grover na naglilingkod sa Central USA Mission Field.

 

Sa bahaging ito ng ating Disciples’ Generous Response, naka-focus tayo sa pag-align ng ating mga layunin sa mga layunin ng Diyos, pag-align ng ating puso sa puso ng Diyos.

Ipinagdiriwang natin ngayon na ang pag-ibig ng Diyos ay makikita sa anyo ng tao. “Sapagkat sa atin ay ipinanganak ang isang sanggol!” Ang pagkabukas-palad ng Diyos o ang kanyang biyaya ay nag-anyong tao at nagpapatuloy sa tuwing tayo ay tumutugon sa kalooban ng Diyos sa pamamagitan ng ating pag-aalay sa ating sarili at sa mga gawain ng pagiging bukas-palad.

 

Isipin kung papaano nabago ang iyong buhay sa pamamagitan ng kabutihang-loob ng Diyos. Naaalala mo pa ang mga sandali noong ito ay nangyari sa iyo? Para kay Jenn, noong mga panahong nawawalan na siya ng pag-asa, at wala na siyang mapupuntahan, siya ay nanalangin. Ang kanyang panalangin ay nasagot sa pamamagitan ng isang van ng simbahan at ng mga miyembro at pastor ng Chattanooga noong sila ay huminto upang tumulong. “Nagdasal ako at narinig ako ng Diyos. Pinadalhan ako ng Diyos ng tulong nang hindi ko na kaya ang aking sarili ko. Ang mga tulong na ito ay mula sa Chattanooga Community of Christ. Ito na ngayon ang aking pamilya. Ito ay kung saan welcome ako sa kahit anumang mga nangyari sa akin. Ito ang aking matatag na paniniwala na ang Diyos ay totoo. Narito ang simbahang ito upang tulungan ang iba na makahanap ng pag-asa. Prayer for Peace

Light the Peace Candle.

Prayer 

Mapagpalang Dios,

Kami ngayon ay nagdiriwang nang dahil sa kapanganakan ni Jesus na siyang nagmulat sa amin ng totoong kahulugan ng galak, pag-asa, pag-ibig at ng kapayapaan!

Si Jesus na siyang liwanag sa kadiliman, ang kapayapaan sa gitna ng galit sa mundo, ng takot at pagkakabaha-bahagi. Nawa ay masindihan ang aming mga kandila mula sa kandila ni Kristo, at protektahan mo ang aming mga ilaw, at maibahagi namin ito sa buong mundo may kadiliman. Tunay ngang nakakamangha kapag ang isang kandila ay sinindihan ang isa pa at magiging dalawa na ang may sindi at liwanag! Hindi na magiging mahina ang ilaw o liliit pa, itoy magiging mas maliwanag kaysa dati, at mas magliliwanag pa ito! Bigyan mo kami ng inspirasyon ung magliwanag, at ikalat ang liwanag sa lahat ng sulok ng kadiliman ng aming mga komunidad.

Sa pangalan ng iyong anak na si Jesus, na siyang tagapagdala ng kapayapaan, at ang liwanag sa mundo! Amen.

Christmas: Lighting the Christ Candle

 

Reader 1 – Merry Christmas!

Reader 3 & Reader 2 – Merry Christmas!

Reader 2 – So, napag-usapan na natin ang tungkol sa kandila ng Hope, Joy, Love and Peace.  Ano nga ulit ang pang-limang kandila?

Reader 1 – Ito ay patungkol kay Jesus.

Reader 3 – Hmmm, mukhang napakalaking usapin na yata ito, pwede mo bang simplehan para sa akin?

Reader 1 – Pointing to the candles. Pwede, mukhang kaya ko. Ito ay tungkol sa mga yan!

Reader 2 – Sa mga kandila? Ano naman ang kinalaman ni Jesus sa mga kandila?

Reader 1 – Hindi, ito ay kung ano ba ang naibibigay sa atin ng mga kandilang yan…

Reader 3 – …Liwanag? Nagbibigay sila ng liwanag!

Reader 1 – TAma!

Reader 2 – Naguguluhan ako. Nagbibigay si Jesus sa atin ng liwanag ng mga kandila?

Reader 1 – SAbi ng ani Jesus, “Ako ang liwanag ng mundo.”

Reader 2 – Talaga?                                                                                        

Reader 1 – Yes, binuo niya ang talatang yan ng banal na kasulatan ng ganito: “Ang sinomang susunod sa akin ay kailan may’ hindi maglalakad sa dilim, bagkus siya ay magkakaroon ng liwanag ng buhay.”

Reader 3 – So ginamit ni Jesus ang liwanag bilang talinghaga?

Reader 2 – Ano?

Reader 3 – Talinghaga. Gaya nito kapag sinabi mong: “Ang kurtina ng takipsilim ay nahulog na sa atin.” Ang takipsilim ay hindi naman kurtina, ngut ito ay ginamit bilang isang simbolo para sa paglalarawan.

Reader 2 – Nakuha ko na, inihalintulad ni Jesus ang kanyang sarili bilang liwanag, pero hindi naman siya isang literal na ilaw o liwanag di ba.

Reader 1 – Magaling. Ipinanganak si Jesus para magdala ng liwanag sa mundo. Nasubukan mo na bang maglakad sa isang napakadilim na lugar at hindi moa lam kung saan ka papunta?

Reader 3 & Reader 2 – Oo naman…

   Reader 3 – …pero noong mayroon nang ilaw, alam mo na kung saan ka tutungo.

   Reader 1 – Perfect! Ang liwanag ang nagbibigay sa atin ng kakayanan upang makapaglakad at pumunta dapat nating puntahan at hindi tayo madadapa.

Reader 2 – Kung si Jesus ay isang liwanag ano ang kanyang iniilawan?

Reader 1 – Tayo. Noong panahon ni Jesus Nakita ng Diyos na ang mga tao ay naglalakad sa kadiliman.

Reader 2 – Parang ganon pero hindi literal di ba?

Reader 1 – Oo, ipinanganak si Jesus dito sa mundo upang bigyan tayo ng liwanag at makita natin kung ano ang Mabuti at tama dito sa mundo sa ating pamumuhay.

Reader 3 – So and liwanag ng mga kandila ay inilalarawan nito ang liwanag ni Jesus sa mga tao noon sa atin sa ngayon.

Reader 1 – Very good. Kailangan din natin ang kanyang liwanag kagaya nila noon.

Reader 2 & Reader 3 – Cool/Got it. Alam na namin.

Reader 1 – TAnong ko lang, paano tumutugma ang liwanag ni Jesus sa apat pang kandila?

Reader 3 – Madali lang yan, ang mundo natin ay kinakailangan ang pag-asa para sa mas mabuting kinabukasan at ang liwanag ang siyang magpapakita dito.

Reader 2 – Ang kaniyang liwanag ang magpapakita sa atin na dapat nating mahalin ang bawat isa.

Reader 1 – … at ang Diyos. Mayroong tayong kapayapaan kung tayo ay nakakakita sa gitna ng kadiliman ng buhay at alam natin ang daang ating tatahakin.

Reader 2 – pero papaano naman yung Galak?

Reader 1 – Ang sabi sa Psalm 97:11, “Light dawns for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.” Kung susundin natin ang mga halimbawa ni Jesus, ang kaniyang liwanag ay lalago sa atin at tayo ay magiging halimbawa sa iba.

Reader 3 – …at yan ang magbibigay sa atin ng kagalakan, kapag natulungan natin ang iba para mahanap din nila ang liwanag ng Diyos.

Reader 2 – Alam ko na ngayon. Binigyang liwanag ni Jesus ang kanilang daan noon na siyang sinusundan natin ngayon, at sa pamamagitan nito nabibigyan din natin ng liwanag ang mga iba para tayo ay sundan.

Reader 1 – So, ang ilaw ng kandila ni Kristo ang siyang pinakamahalaga dahil ito ang liwanag ng Joy, Hope, Love and Peace.

Reader 3 – Hey, pwede na ba nating sindihan ngayon?

Reader 1 – Oo naman. Sige kunin natin itong isang kandila at sindihan na natin. All three light the Christ Candle.

Reader 2 – Napakarami kong natutunan nitong apat na linggong nakaraan.

Reader 3 – Ako din.

Reader 1 – Ngayon, nasa saatin na kung saan natin dadalhin ang liwanag ni Kristo dito sa mundo.

Go, tell it on the mountain,

While shepherds kept their watching

406 Tomorrow Christ Is Coming

Tomorrow Christ is coming
as yesterday he came;
a child is born this moment—
we do not know its name.
The world is full of darkness,
again there is no room;
the symbols of existence
are stable, cross, and tomb.

Tomorrow will be Christmas,
the feast of love divine,
but for the nameless millions
the star will never shine.
Still is the census taken
with people on the move;
new infants born in stables
are crying out for love.

There will be no tomorrows
for many_a baby born.
Good Friday falls on Christmas
when life is sown as corn.
But Jesus Christ is risen
and comes again in bread
to still our deepest hunger
and raise us from the dead.

Our God becomes incarnate
in every human birth.
Created in God’s image,
we must make peace on earth.
God will fulfill Love’s purpose
and this shall be the sign:
we shall find Christ among us
as woman, child, or man.

What child is this, who, laid to rest,
on Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
while shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
whom shepherds guard and angels sing;

Why lies he in such mean estate
where ox and ass are feeding?

Statement

Today’s Disciples’ Generous Response story comes from Apostle Carlos Enriche Mejia who serves the Central and South America Mission Field.

Ang buong mundo ay naapektuhan ng pandemiya na dala ng COVID-19. Maraming mga tao ang nagkasakit at naging biktima. Ilan sa kanila ay namatay o namatayan ng kamag-anak.

 

Ang ganitong sitwasyon ay siya paring nagiging dahilan kung bakit nanatili tayo sa ating mga tahanan upang alagaan ating kankanyang pamilya at ang ating sarili; karamihan parin sa mga nakatakdang gawain sa loob ng simbahan ay nanatiling suspendido. Magpasa-hanggang ngayon ay limitado parin ang ating maaaring gawin gayon din ang mga eskwelahan, mga kompanya, at iba pang mga establisyemento; at dahil sa mga ito maraming mga tao ang nawalan ng pagkakakitaan at trabaho. Ang kakulangan sa pagkain ang isa sa mga bagay na napakahirap. Lahat ng mga pastor ay may pagkalinga sa kamiyembruhan ng ating iglesia at napakahalaga na mapaglaanan ang mga nangangailangan mula sa reserba o offerings upang makakain lamang sila.

 

Ang ating kapatid na si Gonzalo Mejia, Presidente ng Central America Mission Center ay nag-anyaya sa mga Pastor sa kanilang Mission Center upang himukin ang mga magsasaka sa ibat-ibang kongregasyon na magbigay ayon sa kanilang kakayanan ng mula sa bahagi ng kanilang mga ani upang ibigay sa mga kapatid na nakatira sa urban na nagtatrabaho sa mga paktorya na nawalan ng trabaho at nahihirapang pakainin ang kanilang mga pamilya.

 

Napakabilis ng mga naging responde mula sa pastor ng Copan area sa Honduras kung saan mayroong tatlong kongregasyon doon. Kanilang ipinabatid na mayroon silang naipong 2 libong pounds ng pagkain mula sa kanila at sa ibat-ibang komunidad na kahit sa mga hindi miyembro ng iglesia.

 

“Hinanda namin ang lahat upang kunin ang mga naipong pagkain doon. Nagdala kami ng dalawang sasakyan, at isa itong napakagandang karanasan nang makita namin ang tuwa at kagalakan ng mga taong nagbahagi ng kanilang mga biyaya. Nakakapagtaka din na pagkatapos naming maisakay ang lahat ng pagkain, sinabi sa akin ng Pastor na may naipon din silang $35.00 USD mula sa mga kapatid na masayang nagbigay. Maaaring hindi man ito kalakihang halaga, pero sa mga taong nakatira sa isang mahirap na pamayanan katumbas na ito ng isang linggong sweldo ng isang tao.

 

Naniniwala akong ang mga kapatid na ito ang nagsisilbing buhay na patotoo ng pagiging bukas palad, pagkakaisa at galak sa pagbibigay ng suporta sa mga nangangailangan.

 

Mga kapatid ang karanasan kong ito ay nagpapaalala sa akin sa Macedonian Church na kung saan sa gitna ng matinding pagsubok at kahirapan, bumuhos ang pagpapala sa pamamagitan ng pagiging bukas palad na siyang nagbigay ng kagalakan ng ibang tao.

 

Narito ang mga katanungan para sa atin:

·         Papaano tayo namumuhay sa gitna ng pandemiyang ito sa ating komunidad?

·         Anu-ano ang mga pinakakailangan ng mga miyembro sa iyong komunidad?

·         Papaano tumutugon ang kongregasyong iyong kinabibilangan?

 

Napakagandang isipin na mula ating Doctrine and Covenants 163:9 ganito ang sinasabi:

Faithful disciples respond to an increasing awareness of the abundant generosity of God by sharing according to the desires of their hearts; not by commandment or constraint. Break free of the shackles of conventional culture that mainly promote self-serving interests. Give generously according to your true capacity. Eternal joy and peace await those who grow in the grace of generosity that flows from compassionate hearts without thought of return.

 

Sa pagbabahagi natin sa ating mga kaloob, alalahanin nating muli na nararapat na ang ating mga puso at layunin ay tumutugma sa puso at layunin ng ating Panginoon.

Dios ng Kagalakan,

Minsan napakahirap isipin at alalahanin na ang luha ng kalungkutan at kagalakan ay bahagi ng iyong mga gawa. Napakaraming ibat-ibang sitwasyon ang aming mga nakikita: nariyan ang mga pamilyang nangangailangan ng pagkain, mga taong nasa kalungkutan at naghahanap ng pakikipagkaibigan, mga hayop na naghahanap ng kanilang masisilungan, at ang mundong nangangailangan ng kapahingahan. Ikaw naririto sa amin.

Batid namin ang pagkilos ng iyong kamay sa aming komunidad para sa kapayapaan. Nawa ay masamahan ka namin sa iyong paggawa para sa kapayapaang ito. Idinadalangin namin ang mga nalulungkot, ang mga nagugutom, mga walang matuluyan, at ang mga napapagal. Ngayon, hiling po namin na kami ay iyong palakasin upang magawa namin na yakapin, pakainin, at makapagbigay sa mga nangangailangan.

Punuin Mo kami ng kagalakan habang ito ibinabahagi namin ang iyong kapayapaan. Nawa ang aming galak ay mag-umapaw at mabiyayaan ang aming mga pinaglilingkuran.
