Sending Forth: Doctrine and Covenants 153:9

Let my word be preach to the bruised and the brokenhearted as well as those who are enmeshed in sin, longing to repent and follow me. Let the truths of my gospel be proclaimed as widely and as far as the dedication of the Saints, especially the exercise of their temporal stewardship, will allow.

My Spirit is reaching our to numerous souls even now and there are many who will respond if you, my people, will bear affirmative testimony of my love and my desires for all to come unto me.

Be steadfast and trust in the instruction which have been given for your guidance. I will be with you and strengthen you for the tasks that lie ahead if you will continue to be faithful and commit yourselves without reservation to the building of my kingdom.

257 Standing on the Promises

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.

(melody) Stand - ing,
(harmony) Standing on the promises,

(melody) stand - ing,
(harmony) standing on the promises,

(all) standing on the promises of God my Savior;
(melody) stand - ing,
(harmony) standing on the promises,

(melody) stand - ing,
(harmony) standing on the promises,
(all) I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
list’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God.

118 Great and Marvelous Are Thy Works

Great and marvelous are thy works,
O Lord of hosts, almighty One!
Earth and firmament speak thy praise;
thy name is written in the sun.

Sing of his mighty love, for it is wonderful;
let his praise through all the earth resound;
honor and majesty now and forever be
unto God whose love and mercy have no bound.

Thou hast fashioned with thine own hand
the earth below, the heavens above;
O how wonderful is thy power,
and yet how tender is thy love.

287 Come and Bring Light

Come and bring light to a people in darkness.
Come, set us free from the chains we have made.
We are your people, the flock that you tend.
Lord, open our eyes once again.

To the ones brokenhearted: open our eyes.
To the plight of the poor: open our eyes.
To the innocent children: open our eyes.
Teach us compassion and love.

To the victims of violence: open our eyes.
To the ones who seek justice: open our eyes.
To those sitting in prison: open our eyes.
Teach us compassion and love.

When a color divides us: open our eyes.
When the darkness surrounds us: open our eyes.
When we choose to look elsewhere: open our eyes.
Teach us compassion and love.

To those full of life’s sorrow: open our eyes.
To the needs of the lowly: open our eyes.
To the ones who seek peace: open our eyes.
Teach us compassion and love.

To those suffering illness: open our eyes.
To those trapped by addiction: open our eyes.
To those lost or forgotten: open our eyes.
Teach us compassion and love.

Hymn: "Spirit of the Living God” CCS 567

Focus Moment

Based on Psalm 139:14-18

Show a clear container filled with sand. Ask how many grains of sand are inside.

Ask, If you were to count the grains, how long would it take? That jar of sand is like God’s love. God’s love for us is so great that it’s hard to count.

What are some other things that would be hard to count?

For example, leaves on a tree, hairs on our heads, blades of grass in the lawn.

When we look at a tree, or the lawn, or our friend’s head of hair, we see the whole thing, not the individual leaves, hairs, or blades. When we think of God’s love, we see the whole thing—our lives as precious to God.

Verse 18 of the psalm says, “I try to count them—they are more than the sand; I come to the end—I am still with you.” In other words, we don’t have to count all the ways God loves us; it’s just important that we know that God is always with us.

141 ITI DAYDI A RABII
(The Last Supper)

Iti daydi rabii,
Panangtiliwda kencuana,
Anac ti Dios naasi,
Nga inyawat di gayyemna.

Casangoananna la unay,
Nangala iti tinapay,
Nagyaman ket pinisina,
Ket castoy ti insawangna.

Datoy ti bagic canenyo,
Napisi gaput’ basolyo,
Toy darac met bingbingayenyo,
Tanda’t tulag a baro.

Ket daytoy aramidenyo,
Ta pataycot’ lagipenyo,
Iti gimong isipenyo,
Ti ayatco cadacayo.

Jesus, fiestam rambacanmi,
Naganmo icancantami,
Aginggat dica agsubli,
A mangala cadacami.

636 I Have Called You by Your Name

I have called you by your name, you are mine;
I have gifted you and ask you now to shine.
I will not abandon you;
all my promises are true.
You are gifted, called, and chosen; you are mine.

I will help you learn my name as you go;
read it written in my people, help them grow.
Pour the water in my name,
speak the word your soul can claim,
offer Jesus’ body given long ago.

I know you will need my touch as you go;
feel it pulsing in creation’s ebb and flow.
Like the woman reaching out,
choosing faith in spite of doubt,
hold the hem of Jesus’ robe, then let it go.

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
make my wounded children whole;
go and tell my precious people they are mine.

80 O Lord, Grace Our Communion

O Lord, grace our communion
in the promise of this hour.
We await some confirmation
of your liberating power.
Even though your saints here gathered
the human burden share,
in the warmth of your compassion,
how can our hearts despair?

Into lives weighed down by sorrow
let your Spirit gently flow;
may the bruised and brokenhearted,
resurrection surely know.
And so, renewed in spirit,
with newborn hearts aflame,
let this waiting congregation
rise up and praise your name.

567 Spirit of the Living God

English
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me;
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
